We were very grateful to attend this event and share about our work with survivors of torture and other forced migrants seeking safety in the US, and to learn more about other supports available to North Korean escapees in the US. Thank you so much @USAsiaPacific for hosting us!.

We need your help!. We've had several #AsylumSeekers come to us in crisis in the last few weeks and have had several emergency expenses. Your gift will go to clients seeking safety in #Baltimore. Read more on our IG post here and please share!

Despite this heavy news, we remind ourselves & our community why sustained hope and resistance are necessary. Join us in speaking out against this policy in your own circles and contacting your representatives to tell them to #SaveAsylum now.

This goes against everything AWE believes in and work towards as an organization, and we stand with the hundreds of migrant advocacy groups across the country calling on Biden to reverse this egregious decision immediately. #SaveAsylum

#Libraries are special to us - they welcome everyone equally, regardless of immigration status, and for many of our clients, a library card is the first and most accessible document that validates their sense of belonging in their new community. Thank you @prattlibrary!.

Recently we arranged a field trip for AWE clients to Enoch Pratt Central Library. The wonderful library staff who gave us a tour, provided interpretation, and sent each client home with their very own library card.

Many of our clients take comfort in sharing cultures and traditions from home as they settle into life in MD. Recently, our client Halimatou led a cooking class through our Client Ambassador Program and made a traditional Guinean dish for clients and staff. Thank you Halimatou!
