@united 4/ so if we end up in Reykjavik, it’s probably not going to be a surprise! I just wish I could share the experience with my daughters, but @united put us in separate rows. And the adventure is not over: there’s a great chance we might miss the connection!.

@united 2/Because, of course, how could one predict that you need food? They must have been surprised! 😇 But all is well that ends well. Except… we’re still at the gate, 1h20’ past our planned take off time. So I polled the passengers:.

@united 1/ UPDATES: This is the gift that keeps on giving! So, we got to the hotel around 2am - 3 adults, one room, 2 beds: thanks for the effort, @united! After spending the entire afternoon at the airport, we boarded about 35’ late: catering was not ready!.

6/6 except it didn’t, we’re still here, no luggage and all we hear from @united is that they apologise and they’re thankful for our patience. You’re welcome, @united , you’re welcome.

5/ the flight is 24hrs later. So we need our luggage, and @united tells us it will be available right away at the baggage claim. Right away, I guess, is relative: it’s been 3hrs, it’s already 1am of the next day, there are no shuttles or taxi to the hotel but all is well that.

4/ We take off, and we’re about 2 hrs into the flight (no water this time - and still no dinner) when they tell us that one of the ovens is smoking, so we’re diverting to Chicago. Yeah! Unexpected side trip! Thanks @united ! When we land, they tell us that we’re rebooked, but.

3/ and because the A/C was off for about 1hr, a passenger collapsed, and then paramedics had to take this person off too. Now we’re 3hrs late - but hey, we did get a glass of water. All good, right, @united ?.

2/ we board on time in Houston, but after we leave the gate there’s a problem with an engine (no biggie, I guess) so we go back. They fix it in a couple of hours, but in the meantimes people got off, so we have to wait for their luggage to be found and taken off the airplane….

Ok, who is in for a wild flight with @united? 🙋🏽‍♂️ well, buckle up and sit back, we’re going for the long haul. So, I’m flying from Houston to Munich, and because I know my airlines I went for a very long (6hr) stopover, then on to my final destination. I thought there was no way.
