@AmarisCastillo @zafatista @poddar_namrata @AidaWrites "My long-held aspirations did not stop existing when my children were born. I still want to tend to my dreams, to see if I have it in me to work on them until they’re solid and true. Does that make me selfish?" @AmarisCastillo writes in #MothersDay2023.

@AmarisCastillo @zafatista @poddar_namrata @AidaWrites ¡AY MAMÁ! A #TarotReading for #MothersDay2023 from Marlène Ramírez-Cancio: "The comforting mother might not be here, but El Desmadre is the most radical. ‘Approvechate’ this moment, take stock, and—when the time comes—rebuild from the ground up."
asterixjournal.com
In Spanish, a “desmadre” is not just any chaos, it is the mother of all chaos—a disorder so profound, it’s as if all our mothers suddenly disappeared...

How do you be a mom AND a writer? @AmarisCastillo answered this question by interviewing @zafatista (WHAT'S MINE AND YOURS), @poddar_namrata (BORDER LESS), & @AidaWrites (JOVITA WORE PANTS). Hint: Step #2: Don’t wait. The optimal time will never come.

How do they do it? I reached out to a few mother-writers who I admire – published authors who are doing the difficult yet rewarding job of raising children.
