If you are an in the office company, this week would be a good one to show your appreciation to commuting employees who are dealing with back to school traffic.

So much want to tweet about my thoughts on the industry, but I can't as I respect the fact that almost every company is now a customer of my employer. Forgot how being an enterprise provider affects your place in the world.

Just interested. How much do people normally spend to get a basic permit in various parts of the world? Getting a permit to rebuild a roofline in our home. Already $2500 in fees to my city/town just to review the plans an architect/engineer produced and a builder will use.

It's now 10:30 and I'm off to shower and be a normal human and back to work by 11:00 with the team ahead by 3 hours.

small story of WFH: woke up at 6AM to message that team had made progress on something that I was due to test. popped into home office, did hours of testing to be able report in status by 9AM. If I went to office, I guarantee that I wouldn't have started this work until 9AM.

Recently heard of a Compute Infrastructure (people) leadership opportunity. I'm happy in my new gig, but if we've worked together before and you're looking for such an opportunity, let me know and I can connect you.

I spent 10 minutes trying to find the bug on my small font monitor. ChatGPT saw it in a second.

It is amazing how accelerated hype curves are being progressed through on new technology. It used to take years, then months, now weeks.

Working through an intro to ML and now get the extra meaning behind the Silicon Valley show joke about "not hotdog".

Great talk about how PM, TPM, and EMs can better understand how they expect to work with each other and get the most from each other. https://t.co/GLhCWkVT6J Sharing this as I've looked for this twice in the last three years and never can find it.

Maybe I'm wrong, but this trend has angered me as I really can't understand how this is even possible. Either employees are making impact or not, the managers included. Having employees faking work is managers failing to have impact for their hiring and team execution.

Ding ding ding. If there are coasters you have managers that are enablers or not able to understand what their employees are doing and it should be these managers who are held accountable.
The notion of 'fake work' or coasting in the tech industry has a long history, but experts say it's just an 'excuse for bad management'

What's the difference between living in Silicon Valley and camping? One is usually rainy, doesn't have power, internet or heat. The other is usually done in the wilderness.
