Being alloromantic & allosexual means feeling romantic & sexual attraction to 1 or more genders. Allo is not the same as polyamory. Polyamory is a choice. Being allo isn't. Allos can still abstain from dating/sex (attraction ≠ action). Allos can still love family & friends.

When aces use "cishet ace", they mean the PB&A sandwich that consists of: - 2 slices of cis bread - some heteroromantic peanut butter - some ace paste (flavorless, odorless, colorless, textureless, invisible, inaudible) instead of heterosexual jelly It's a different sandwich.

Being similar to or having 2 out of 3 things in common with PB&J sandwiches ≠ being a PB&J sandwich. If you added heterosexual jelly to grilled cheese, it wouldn't be basically a PB&J sandwich, despite having 2 out of 3 things in common. You're either a PB&J sandwich or not.

"BUT THEY CAN PASS AS PB&J SANDWICHES! GRILLED CHEESE CAN'T!" Both can "pass" if they don't reveal what's between their bread slices. Neither can if they do. A closeted PB sandwich can "pass" while an openly cheesy grilled cheese can't, but same goes for the other way round.

If their options are PB&J sandwich or grilled cheese, they may prefer the PB&J sandwich, but that doesn't mean they'd prefer a PB sandwich over grilled cheese. PB sandwiches are often seen as incomplete PB&J sandwiches & expected to get jelly & turn into PB&J sandwiches somehow.

I'd argue that a peanut butter sandwich isn't the same as a peanut butter & jelly sandwich. People seldomly (if ever) order a PB&J sandwich - hold the jelly. If they expect a PB&J sandwich & receive a PB sandwich instead, they're gonna notice & won't think it's close enough.

Analogy The "cishet" ace PB&J sandwich It consists of: - 2 slices of cis bread - some heteroromantic peanut butter - no heterosexual jelly Some people insist that for all intents & purposes, it's a PB&J sandwich. No same-gender attraction cheese/trans bread? PB&J sandwich!

"Back in my day, people weren't offended by everything. We could take a joke." Elgoog detected the following language: Bullshit Translation: "We used to bully people & get away with it. Now, they don't let us do that anymore. They don't bully us, but it feels like that to us."

"Stop shoving your lifestyle in my face!" Fine, we'll try to contain our lifestyle face-shoving. No more engagement photo shoots, wedding photo shoots, pregnancy announcement photoshoots, baby belly growth photos, "gender" reveals, birth announcements, newborn photoshoots, ...

People of different orientations may share the same preferences, turn-ons, attitudes toward sex, etc. & people who share the same orientation may have different preferences, turn-ons, attitudes toward sex, etc. • People are individuals, not hiveminds • Attraction ≠ action

Some lesbians have sex that includes penises/strap-ons. People ask: "If you like dick, why not just fuck men instead?" It isn't because "lesbianism is a spectrum". Enjoying sex with a penis (-shaped object) doesn't change that they're attracted to women & not attracted to men.

Random person: "How can asexuals have/like sex? I thought the point of being asexual was not having/liking sex?" Common response: "Asexuality is a spectrum. [...]" No. Asexuality being a spectrum is irrelevant in this context. It's an orientation, not what we (don't) do/like.

"Facts don't care about your feelings!" Right. So why would they care about yours whenever we show that facts back us up? "Words have meanings!" They do. Often even more than 1. You not knowing about others, conflating them &/or not understanding them doesn't mean we're wrong.

I just ✌️🏻love✌️🏻 when people who've just come across a label (& think new to them = new) decide it's unnecessary, because - it has the same meaning as this other already existing label (it doesn't) - it's too specific (not for those who use it) - no one cares (except, they do)

Ace ≠ implied straight Heteroromantic aces ≠ basically straight Sex-favorable aces ≠ basically/implied heterosexual Sexually active aces ≠ basically/implied heterosexual/using people as sex toys Demisexuals ≠ implied straight/everyone/having standards/slut-shaming
