Local Techno Futures is currently funded through grants from University of Cape Town in collaboration with @ictdchick and Cardiff University in collaboration with @nervoxavier.

Naveen will be sharing from Local Techno Futures: We are working with five artists-artisans from Bidar, exploring possibilities of alternative imaginations of human-machine relationships grounded in the pasts and presents of their communities of practices.

Our member @blnaveen will be in Germany from the 6 to 17 January, participating in the Dagstuhl Seminar “Towards a Multidisciplinary Vision for Culturally Inclusive Generative AI” from the 6 to 9 January.

For, all of these lives we have lived, we have not lived them online. And for this we are launching our place-based web-journal of stories from people, places and practices from across Hyderabad-Karnataka region, Channapatna, Kundapura and Chennai.

We have learned many things. Many ideas have emerged, many lives have been lived in these places. We have thousands of photos, hundreds of thesis documents, and shared infrastructure. But most of all, we have made hundreds of friends, family and collaborators.

Since 2016, we, @livinglabs_net @Team_YUVAA along with Manesiri Collective have been working with people and communities in Bidar and Channapatna, and more recently in Kundapura. Three places across Karnataka. Rich, diverse, and yet a common ground for our collective learning.

We are excited is that the Fellows will be from the place, and we will get to learn about their place with them. We are working in close collaboration with @khpt4change on this; so much of inter, cross disciplinary learning to get into! .More details soon. .

We met in the wonderful settings of GP Library, Hemmadi; co-imagined and discussed the details of Grama Drishti Fellowships. The fellowship is aimed to foster youth of the place via place-based learning and to enable community-led knowledge management and action in the long term.
