This day in social work history ⏳ 24th November 2020: Court of Appeal rules that the government acted unlawfully during the Covid-19 lockdown by removing safeguards for children during the first national lockdown, in a case brought by @article_39

@Richard_Scorer @Tom_Perry In almost every long-running abuse scandal, it is found that people knew (or at least strongly suspected) what was going on, but didn't report it to the authorities. It is profoundly unsurprising that the Smyth scandal follows the usual pattern.
