I'd rather not resort to --ignore-platform-req, as that would risk also pulling in other PHP8-incompatible packages. Forking could be used as a last resort, but also seems suboptimal. (3/4)

Background: I have a dependency on a package that does not declare compatibility with PHP8. That seems correct, as not everything in that package works correctly on that version. However, the limited set that I use from it seems to run fine on PHP8. (2/4)
