At my local stamp club’s auction last night I purchased an old stamp album for $5 USD. It was full of worldwide stamps from about 1890-1940. While none are of high value there are many fun stamps that I can use, some pictures attached.

NOVA is the postmark of the U.S. post office in Merrifield, VA. It’s the major mail distribution center in the Washington, DC area. They test many new spray cancels before use at other post offices. Some are in use for only a short time.
NOVA has started using a “Thinking of You" cancel on 19 September. The cancels use military time rather than the PM designation. Last year NOVA used military time for only a short period before changing back to PM. For more info see

I was able to attend the ceremonies. Really nice and a lot of fun.

I was at the meeting and it was great. The Club even made commemorative covers for meeting attendees which Scott English graciously signed for us.
At our Wednesday night meeting Scott English, Executive Director of @APS, gave a presentation about the future plans for APS. Thank you @iamscottenglish for the informative and thought provoking presentation and thanks to our members for the great turnout!.

Christmas stamps this year feature snow globes. USPS is using at least 3 holiday themed spray cancels of snow globes, two of which are similar to the Santa and Christmas tree stamps. The third cancel depicts snow covered homes. Merry Christmas!

Lastly, I like getting the duck stamp on the license as the hunter actually had this with them when they went out. In a sense it’s like getting a cover that went through the mail. 3/3.

Hunters are required to sign the Federal duck stamp, which this one did on the salvage attached to the stamp. Normally the signature is across the design of the stamp. The hunter lived in Plains, Montana population 1,000 in 1970. 2/3.
