My spouse is amazing (and so is this little guy). Living with these two has been the main thing keeping me afloat these past months.
Happy 2nd birthday to SLANTWISE MOVES, the 2nd-best thing @arithmatelle has ever created 🎉🧡🎊 https://t.co/K97gu0tyYN

It is with great pleasure that I share 🥁MY LATEST COLUMN, which in some ways serves as a mission statement for my whole endealment. It's been lovely to have @Jo_Livingstone as an editor & I am THRILLED to be back in the internet-advice game again!

You know, the “living” people talk about making.

I forgot to tweet about this earlier—or more accurately, I forgot, as I always do, why I’d ever want to be on Twitter—but I enjoyed reviewing this collection and I’m excited to see it published:

Such a privilege to work on this project with the Honor Society students this semester. You can see the completed posters at the link below—and if you happen to be in Oswego, NY, at City Hall for the next few weeks:
Check out these photos from the reception of the “One City. One Campus. One Community” project, featuring the English Honors Society and their advisor Prof. Doug Guerra! https://t.co/PXP81UmjMJ

♥️♥️♥️ to @AyendyBonifacio for sharing his experiences as a scholar of colour struggling with depression & toxic productivity Yes, this resonates for far too many of us! #litPOC #poc19
For a long time, I didn’t know I was depressed--until my body told me. I wrote about my struggle with depression and toxic productivity for @Slate. I hope this piece resonates with those in similar positions.

Back to being Businesslady for a bit! I'm never not going to have strong opinions about crafting a creative resume. Plus it's always a treat to work with my favorite newsletter, if only because gmail renders our conversation threads as "me, Evil" 💜👿

@C19Podcast So grateful for the work @CarrieEJohnston and her co-contributors put into this, and for the thoughtful practical reflections on how to make pedagogical vision responsive to students' emotional needs.

Delighted to share our most recent episode of the @C19Podcast, produced by Carrie Johnston, who is joined by colleagues from Wake Forest University to discuss using archival materials to enrich and complicate their teaching of Harriet Jacobs.

That thing where you taught all day & came home beat & dove into playing with your kid and it’s only much later that you process that your spouse made a thread of your child with your book to celebrate its book-iversary. Yeah. That’s a nice counterpoint to the Everything Else.
Can you believe it?! @arithmatelle’s SLANTWISE MOVES is 3 years old today! And this child is at least 300% more mobile than he was last year. (He set the dust jacket on the table himself, lest anyone give me undue credit for the photo staging.)

There’s NO collection of essays on barrier-breaking Mary Ann Shadd Cary. This symposium will change that. With keynotes by @marthasjones_ and @blacklikewho Rinaldo Walcott Oct 1-2! Please RT @citeblackwomen @blkwomenradical @BlkGrlBrilliant @dorothyjberry
In 1853, Mary Ann Shadd Cary became the first Black woman to publish a newspaper, The Provincial Freeman, which provided the perspective of Black Canadian emigrants and anti-slavery activists. #MASCSymposium

Lol, and today is the day I learned the reason for the whole “.@“ thing.
@hillandoats leads a fascinating and timely discussion in this month's @c19podcast about the relations between unemployment and illness in the United States, both in the nineteenth century and the present. Love the context and perspective here.
