PSA for other creatives out there pushing fur under machinery day in day out. After 25 years of building fursuits, left section of my elbow has no gap remaining. Not fixable, but doing physio will help it. Also, I get to start work again! Bones healed!

Melting worked better than cutting. Doesn't unravel when brushed, minimal fur actually lost, kinda gently melted roots together! Hiden venting achieved. Coffee break earned! 🤗

I am taking vacation. As an artist, THIS IS THE HARDEST THING TO DO. Like, holy fuck, you dont know what it's like to NEVER clock off work. Ever. All day every day I think of what projects I have on the go, and where my next one might come from. Job security but 24/7 stress.

! Gluing a giant ear? Coat in hotglue, let cool, place fur, steam and brush! The finish is so smooth! solid bond to the foam, also great for adjusting things and fiddling with seams. Best w/short fur. I give you: 💦🔥

Fun Fact: your suit, 70~100hrs in just labour. Then you add in admin, customer serv, travel and all the rest. 100~200hrs ave.

Fursuit maker joy: someone trying their suit for the first time, and the stream of joyous goofy noises the human body can apparently make. Watching someone get overwhelmed like that is wonderful. He was giggling like a kid for half an hour!

Seams are always pretrimmed, stitched, picked clean, then finally serged for a smooth finish. Comfy enough many ppl sleep in their suits. Durable enough to skydive in. =)

Fursuit care is more than just letting them dry. I spend about 2hrs taking care of pistachio after an event. What he means to be cant be put into words, I want to keep him tip-top for as many years as possible. 15-20years of fun in a fursuit is possible! Pistachio is 6 now 💙

I use clear plastic like animation cells. Doin inset spots atm, mark the seam allowance on the inside of the pencil line this time. Slash marks to help line pieces up
