Leadership Atlanta brought together over 80 leaders united in service to our city. I was grateful to take part in today’s education-focused conversations at Mays. Thank you to the committed leaders & to all who showed up with purpose. I look forward to continuing this together.

I recently visited Continental Colony Elementary📚, & the scholars blew me away! We explored lessons on the Great Depression, & their questions showed just how deeply they’re thinking about history. It’s incredible to see students so engaged across every subject! #APSExcellence

I had a fantastic time visiting Kimberly Elementary, home of the Panthers, for Book Fair Day! The scholars were exploring new stories, practicing fast reading, and mastering their sight words. Their love for reading truly lit up the school! 🐾📚 #APSExcellence

Everyone loves Bunche Middle School, & my recent visit made it clear why! It was a fun, festive, & deeply educational day. We stopped by electives like chorus, gym, & art; each one giving students meaningful opportunities to build skills, express creativity, & stay active.

Humphries Elementary was an absolute joy to visit! Lunch with the kindergarteners brought so much laughter, and the STEM lab was buzzing with innovation. Students were hard at work as budding gardeners, creating lemon cucumbers and learning through real-life exploration.✨

Today, I had the opportunity to visit Midtown High School, home of the Knights ⚔️. Scholars were engaged, curious, and, like many this time of year, excited for the upcoming break 🎉.It was a great day at Midtown, & I’m proud of the hard work from both our students & staff.

What a day at Scott Elementary! Crazy Hair & Hat Day brought lots of smiles, but the real highlight was seeing students hard at work in reading & math. We also participated in professional development, reflecting on strategies to ensure every scholar has what they need.

Visited F.L. Stanton, & wow! Our scholars were diving into math with such energy & focus! It was incredible to see them working together, sharing ideas, & supporting one another so that everyone can succeed. The collaboration & determination in the classroom was truly inspiring!

I recently visited Cleveland Avenue Elementary, & the scholars were eager to learn! The classrooms were full of energy, & students were attentive, engaged, and excited to share their projects, from colorful science experiments to creative artwork lining the halls! #APSExcellence
