I've been covering the online poker industry for nearly six years now, and it's frustrating to see the slow progress in the US, arguably the biggest market for online poker. Since 2018, I believe only five or six states have legalized online poker and yet only two of them went.

Great to see the @WSOP website finally starting to show results from this year's series. Apparently, according to the website, Luka Bojovic has won this year's Main Event. Congratulations 👏. (jk, it's probably a bug because he's the last eliminated player?)

@UnibetPoker has had this system for over a decade. Full Tilt implemented it before it merged with PokerStars. @BetRiversPoker (previously @RunItOncePoker) has had this system since day 1. US-offshore Bodog was also among the first to implement it like a decade ago.

This system has been in place in Southern European segregated markets (France, Spain, Portugal, and Italy) for years. Surprisingly, it took them this long to implement it in the global dot-com market. It's not the best solution, as it has both pros and cons.

ICYMI,. @PokerStars made changes yesterday to how players take their seats in cash games. Now, you can no longer pick your table or seat. Instead, you only choose the table stake and buy-in, and you'll be automatically assigned to a table, just like in live games.

This year’s @WSOP Main Event stream will break records, paywall or not. But to grow the game, @PokerGO should really consider lifting the paywall, or at least make the first 30 mins free or something. That’s how I got into poker. It could bring in a whole new wave of players.

Honestly, I thought a PokerGO subscription was the only way to watch the WSOP stream. Turns out it's a bit cheaper on YouTube.

🧠 So what’s the takeaway?. Don’t register on Day 2 — your chances of going deep are tiny. Instead, pick any Day 1 flight — particularly 1B, 1C, or 1D. Flight 1B was the most efficient in 2025, but recent Main Event winners have mostly come from 1C or 1D.
