Nice parent called me 4 advice this wk. Son “released” from top level 1 academy. He’s 7! She laughed at the coach thankfully. Released is not a word that should be in vocabulary of a coach of foundation age children. Irresponsible lazy language! Start of his football not the end!

I was coaching in a school. Several talented lads told me they dont play football for a club because parents can't afford it. So started a completely free football club funded by sponsors & 6 years later they are still playing together 👍 but it's a big national problem

From Luton, as a child watched 100s games at Kenilworth Rd. Later coached there for 12 yrs at dif levels & helped 1st team in dream day at wembley. No 1 can rub that day out 4 me! I dug the suit out, part of it must be worn Sat? sadly won't be there. only the tie fits! 😅

Not being involved at any football club feels terrific. Able to watch my lad today with misses. Seeing him play next to Lanre Ladipo who I've coached for years since a kid, what a lovely young man. them working clever together, both back from ACL & dominating the game. 🤩

Yes, when u see this level of emotion it’s why more care needs to be taken on the end when the young players are released. Imagine the heartbreak. Emotional rollercoaster these kids go through without enough care 4 consequence.
