Fun fact: my kids went through a phase where they were OBSESSED with Y2K and made me recite the history daily like the world’s most boring bedtime story.
Does anyone else remember Y2K? Were you or your family worried about it? My uncle bought 6 months worth of tuna incase the world fell apart . 😳😬🥴

Inheritance? What sort of 19th century southern gothic fantasy are you living in? Country poor is zero shelters, zero food banks, zero public transport, zero walkability. Poverty is brutal no matter where you live. Romanticizing one version is a wild take.
City poor is absolute worse. Country poor there is always somewhere to stay, some land, some house, some inheritance. City poor is way closer to being unhoused and being unhoused is almost impossible to come back from

I survived (barely) the first week back in the classroom after Fall Break. Ended the week with some fall watercolor free time because we all deserved a treat for making it that far. (Don’t judge my skills — I’m not an art teacher! 😂)

Gently: if your mental health cannot handle query passes on a weekend, you are not ready for the stress of sub, debut, etc. Trad publishing is not for the weak of heart. Consider query passes a warmup for the marathon of rejections to come.
