I've been even quieter than usual on here lately, but for a good reason: We're expecting a new arrival in our family in autumn! (And hyperemesis sucks ... It's hard to think of exciting posts about runes while throwing up ...)

Happy news! My chapter on runes and racism is about to be published in this forthcoming volume

I have a new favourite runestone: the Læborg stone that Ravnunge-Tue carved in honour of his queen Thyra. Because of his signature and his carving technique on this stone, Laila Kitzler Åhfeldt and I discovered that he also carved the larger Jelling stone.

@lisbethimer and Laila Åhfeldt has discovered something about the biggest of the Jelling rune stones. It was carved by Hrafnunga-Tofi. This has some implications of the role of queen Þorvi (Thyra), mother of Harald Bluetooth.
