Staying at my relatives’ place this week, but still pushing to finish Cohort 3 DevOps. Working on Week 36.2 secrets and configmaps in Kubernetes. The goal stays on track, and I’m not slowing down until it’s done.

Today I traveled in a packed passenger train. No space to stand, everyone pushing around. It hit me hard I don’t want this life forever. I want to work hard and build a life where I never have to travel like this again. That crowd just reminded me why I need to succeed.

Wrapped up Cohort 3 DevOps Week 36.1 Secret, ConfigMaps and took a deeper dive into Ingress and Ingress Controllers. Explored how nginx-ingress-controller acts as a centralized load balancer, how to apply Ingress, and how ingress.yaml works for path-based and subdomain routing.

Wrapped up Cohort 3 DevOps Week 35.1 Learned about Namespaces for team isolation in K8s Cluster, deployed full-stack + DB on k8s with ClusterIP service for internal communication, and at last learned about Ingress. Took longer time because of college practicals but got it done.

Tomorrow is my OS practical exam and right now I’m trying to finish Cohort 3 DevOps Week 35. At this point the fear of exams doesn’t even matter anymore. I’ve cooked way too much 😭🔥

Wrapped up Cohort 3 Week 34.2 – Kubernetes Part 3. Deep dived on k8s services, learned diff types of services. (NodePort, Load balancer and ClusterIP) Set up a K8s cluster on Digitalocean, ran an pod containing nginx image, exposed it first using NodePort and then Load Balancer.

Yup, and honestly, frontend developers aren’t supposed to do full UI design that’s the UI designer’s job. You explained the actual work of a frontend dev perfectly. Hats off 🙌🏻

Wrapped up Week 34.1 Kubernetes Part 2. Also finished an offline video on AWS S3 and CloudFront yesterday. Learned about Replicasets and Deployments in k8s today, created them using manifest files, tested them live.

College internal practicals are so cool. Copied files from friends, studied only during the viva in class because I’m roll no. 56, and teachers give marks based on face value. Real tip: don’t waste time on pracs focus on projects, learning new skills and building online presence.

Cloudflare down. World paused. Twitter, Stocktwits, Perplexity, ChatGPT, Canva… all down. 65% of the apps we use are gone. And of course this had to happen when I’m trying to make my practical file 😭💔

Wrapped Cohort 3 Week 33.2 Started my Kubernetes journey Learned what Kubernetes is, the world before & after it, how a k8s cluster works, the Kubernetes API, and how to use kubectl CLI. Also created and stopped Pods, and explored Kubernetes manifests for defining resources.

Learning Kubernetes today so I can stay five steps ahead of 90% of full-stack devs...

But Balancing all this with college, grind and studies gets really tough sometimes.

Wrapped Cohort 3 Week 33.1 Explored Serverless Backends what they are, why they’re good/bad, and diff types like AWS Lambda and Cloudflare Workers. Set up Workers, deployed a hello-world API, used Wrangler + Hono for routes, and connected to a DB learned about connection pooling.

Wrapped up Cohort 3 Week 32.1 Continued with Prometheus & Grafana (Part 2) Visualized scraped metrics in Prometheus UI, used PROMQL for tables & graphs, then moved to Grafana the real power of monitoring. Linked it with the app, created dashboards & alerts
