Today is the first time Uncle Grandpa has been rerun on Cartoon Network after ending.
After airing its last episode back in 2017, it's never aired on the channel again until now.
18 years, 19,800+ airings, 15 seasons, 289 episodes, millions of weekly viewers and dozens of bumpers later Family Guy has concluded its run on Adult Swim.
This is how Cartoon Network switches to Adult Swim every night.
There are three ways to know to change the channel:
1) CN saying goodnight.
2) The viewer discretion card.
3) The rating in the top left corner.
With a lot of rumors regarding WDB restructuring going around, here's what true:
– Cartoon Network Studios is not dead.
– The Cartoon Network channel is not shutting down anytime soon.
– Cartoon Network still has lots of projects in the works.
Today in TV history:
1999 – SpongeBob premieres on Nickelodeon.
2002 – The Nicktoons channel launches.
2005 – Fox debuts its Animation Domination block.
2005 – Family Guy returns to Fox for good after with its fourth season
Episode 6 of the Animaniacs reboot has been pulled. The episode contained a real-life phone number which turns out to be a sex hotline.
The episode is likely being edited to include a fake number.
I will say, it's nice that as of late when Cartoon Network/Adult Swim air shows produced in 4:3 format, they air it in that format and un-stretched unlike most of the other Turner nets.
This fall, Cartoon Network will now be split into three different areas:
Cartoonito (preschoolers)
Cartoon Network (kids/tweens)
Adult Swim (teens/young adults)
So now there will be something for pretty much everyone on the channel.
Cartoon Network Japan is launching a new late-night block on July 5th called "Cartoon Network Nite".
Containing anime such as Assassination Classroom, Hell Girl, Fullmetal Alchemist and One Punch Man.
Also contains reruns of Steven Universe and Regular Show too!
For anyone concerned, Warner Bros sold this film’s distribution rights to GFM Animation.
GFM will be releasing the film and Warner Bros won’t be able to shelve it.

Looks like Venture Bros got the Aqua Teen treatment, more episodes were planned and the series was planned to go on longer, but it was cut short at the last minute (at least Aqua got a conclusion)
At 14 years it's the fourth longest running Adult Swim shows in terms of years.
Take this with a grain of salt, but an alleged insider has information on Cartoon Network's upcoming year:
– HBO Max and CN are creating "CN Max Studios", a studio producing shows for a 13+ audience (Unicorn: Warriors Eternal, Close Enough, Gross Girls, Infinity Train, etc.)
Here are the ten longest running animated TV series in the world.
Arthur is the only show here not currently in production, South Park will surpass it by the end of the year
The Simpsons showrunner, Al Jean, confirms that there are still no plans for the show to end anytime soon.
He also says it's very likely to hit 40 seasons.
Tonight's new episode of American Dad! was actually produced to be a potential series finale of the show.
The showrunners were unsure of the show's future due to the then-upcoming Warner Bros Discovery merger.
As of this month "SpongeBob SquarePants" is now Nickelodeon's longest running TV series, surpassing "Nick News with Linda Ellerbee".
It's run longer than any other cartoon, game show, variety show or any other show that Nickelodeon has produced.
"Family Guy Experience" has opened up in downtown LA.
Features a 9 hole mini golf course (Giggity Golf), a real life Drunken Clam with its own cocktail menu, the "Eat My Junk" food truck and Family Guy merch.
Runs through November 15th.
FXX aired the Family Guy episode "Movin' Out (Brian's Song)" regularly, although the infamous foreground scene where Quagmire attacks Marge Simpson has been digitally removed.
I've notice a lot of movie theaters are pulling their showings of "The Bob's Burgers Movie" across the country within the next week.
Check your local theater screenings for more info, but by this time next week only a handful of theaters will still be screening the film.
Despite their heavy branding changes, Cartoon Network still hasn't updated their sign on/sign off.
Most of the characters in these bumpers aren't even on the channel anymore.
Lots of technical difficulties at Cartoon Network this morning:
- No channel logo at one point
- Double rating bug
- Blackouts and audio issues
- Gumball episode getting cut off early and replaced with an already in progress We Baby Bears
As of last night, The Loud House now has half as many episodes as SpongeBob SquarePants.
Loud House has 136 half-hours, while SpongeBob has 271 half-hours.
Long story short, pettiness doesn't win. Lots of these shows could've lived better lives in their time. Had Comedy Central focused let's less on competing so hard they could've alongside Adult Swim and supported the growth adult animation.
UPDATE: The episode is back, but instead of changing the phone number, the entire text has been removed, making this part of the scene confusing to first time viewers.
Episode 6 of the Animaniacs reboot has been pulled. The episode contained a real-life phone number which turns out to be a sex hotline.
The episode is likely being edited to include a fake number.
Fun fact: As of today, The Loud House is now the second show in Nick history after Rugrats, to have aired on all the Nick networks (Nickelodeon, Nicktoons, Nick Jr., Nick at Nite and TeenNick)

They don't understand that Cartoon Network and Adult Swim are two seperate things. They see Adult Swim as Cartoon Network with a different name.
FXX is now airing Family Guy from the beginning.
Oddly, it appears they're not using the syndicated version for every episode, the one airing right now is the regular version, weird.
The quality appears to be much higher as well.
In 2002, After the success of the revival of Home Movies, Comedy Central all of a sudden decided to release the unaired episodes of Dr. Katz (another Soup2Nuts show), which had been off the air for a couple years already.
Cartoon Network first announced Adult Swim in 2000. It didn't have a name yet and was simply referred to as "Parental Block" and was going to launch on April 1, 2001. Sealab 2021 was "Sea Lab 20/20" and Brak Show was "Leave it to Brak"
If The Simpsons continues on for another 148 episodes, the series will have more episodes produced in high definition (16:9) than in standard definition (4:3).
There are currently 429 episodes produced in SD and 282 episodes (and counting) produced in HD.
After the success of The Oblongs and Baby Blues moving from The WB to AS, Comedy Central decided to acquire Clerks and air the remaining episodes. Didn't last very long.

In 2007, after hearing Adult Swim's rights to Futurama were almost expired, Comedy Central stepped in at the last minute and offered much more for the rights than Adult Swim could afford, and took the series in 2008, where it still airs to this day
If King of the Hill doesn't air in December, this will be the first year since 1996 the series hasn't aired on television in the US.
The current right holders, Comedy Central, has stopped airing the show in November 2019, and the show was pulled from syndication last fall.
Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is now streaming on Pluto TV on the Totally Turtles channel (channel 983).
It will air there all day every Sunday.
The Turkish version of CNBC (CNBC-e) was a hybrid business channel and entertainment channel, and even aired Nickelodeon shows.
It was the only network in the world you can watch business investments and SpongeBob on the same channel.
The only place the show has ever been reran is on Boomerang who aired it infrequently from 2017 to 2018 and briefly through the month of September 2020.
A Family Guy film has been in development for 2008, but Seth has continuously put it off due to working on other projects.
Another movie project was announced in 2018, but nothing has happened since.
Unless Seth makes the movie a priority, it won't be happening anytime soon.

* Infinity Train isn't officially cancelled yet.
* Season 2 of Close Enough comes 2/25, renewed for season three

UPDATE
#2
: It has been changed again. The last four numbers have been changed and it is now officially a fake number.
There are now three different versions of this scene.
UPDATE: The episode is back, but instead of changing the phone number, the entire text has been removed, making this part of the scene confusing to first time viewers.
Microsoft actually planned to use Family Guy to promote Windows 7 in 2009, and even made special promos for an upcoming episode.
They were essentially existing clips of the show, redubbed to talk about Windows 7.
Comedy Central did a big animation push in 2003/04 with more mature cartoons that Adult Swim couldn't get away with yet and debuted Drawn Together, Shorties Watchin' Shorties and Kid Notorious. Drawn Together was the only success.
Just a reminder:
– Cartoon Network Studios is not shutting down, just relocating to a new building.
– The Cartoon Network channel is not shutting down either.
– The new building that they're moving into has been under development WAY before Zaslav and WDB came along.
At the same time, CC's sister network TNN (later Spike now Paramount Network), made a block called "The Strip" that aired Ren & Stimpy Adult Party Cartoon, Gary the Rat and Stripperella. The block had good ratings but the network went in a different direction and the block ended.
The change was both good and bad, while new episodes were made and aired, Comedy Central aired the broadcast syndicated version in order to squeeze in more commercial time. Meaning lots of content was cut. This is a practice done with most of their syndicated shows.
Live-action kids' programming has been on huge decline:
– Nickelodeon: 2 shows currently airing, everything else is cancelled/in limbo
– Disney Channel: none of the current shows have been renewed beyond their current order; only 1 upcoming show
– Cartoon Network: Unknown status
Episode titles for the sixth season of Rick and Morty:
– Bethic Twinstinct
– Ricktional Mortpoon's Rickmas Mortcation

Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu has concluded its run today.
Throughout its run, the series lasted:
– 11 years
– 15 seasons and 210 episodes (+4 pilot episodes)
– 70 shorts
– 1 feature film
In 2018, Comedy Central acquired King of the Hill from a cushy primetime slot on Adult Swim to a late night/early morning edited slot on the network. The show only aired a year, so they may not have really wanted it, they probably just didn't want Adult Swim to have it.
The Simpsons is currently the second highest rated series on TV in the 18-49 demographic, right behind CBS' 60 Minutes.
Its recent episode on Sunday was TV's highest rated program in the 18-49 demographic, outside of sports.
Contrary to belief, there was never any adult SpongeBob spin-off ever in production.
The closest thing to adult SpongeBob content was the "SpongeBong HempPants" shorts which aired on adult animated variety series "Ill-unstrated" which aired on Nick's sister network, VH1.
