A CBC News investigation has uncovered long wait times when calling 911 in Toronto. Internal documents show people sometimes wait on hold for longer than two minutes before their call is answered. As @angelinaaking explains, a 911 operator is now the one calling for help.

Internal documents we obtained show how long people wait on hold to speak with a 911 operator in Toronto. The average wait time is 25 seconds, while the average longest wait time is 4 minutes and 16 seconds. The longest? 10 minutes and 2 seconds.

And here’s the written version, in which I get a little personal. It was really nerve wracking to share some of my experiences being mixed, but hoping this may resonate with others.
