While Pune and Blr are debating elevated/tunnel roads, ignoring public transit, Nagpur is already going full steam ahead. The green line is a flyover that is being built. orange and blue are existing metro line and purple is what could have been @streetfrontier @indianurbanism3

Car brained infra will ruin our cities. This is a part of the flyover through the densest part of the city that should've just been a metro/PT line. Green line is flyover, purple is a possible metro line and red arrow marks where this intersection is. (1/2)

Typical BA pass babu design. Flyover should help you FLY OVER intersections. Ideally this interchange should have segregated all directions on different levels. This is just a elevated roundabout, in country where traffic police themselves don't know how to use them. Hardly any

If thereโ€™s one thing stopping India from looking like a halfway decent country instead of a chaotic, third-world mess, itโ€™s our failure to provide the basics: walkable sidewalks, clearly marked roads, and clean public spaces. And in a country that can launch mars missions, fixing

Silver lining in the Indigo crisis - the MLAs are forced to take trains/cars to Nagpur. Rail travel should be mandatory for them. Maybe they will finally address the capacity and connectivity issues with our trains then?

Amid the losses and delays faced by Indians in the current IndiGo 6E, imagine if we already had this(and more). Apart from all the heat and punishment that IndiGo deserves to face, we must admit the state also has failed to add transit capacity. HSR is the answer.
