Tipping point for me was bandaids. Got knock-offs that gave my kids rashes. Cancelled Prime and never looked back.
you can't buy name-brand anything on Amazon anymore and trust that it's real. electronics, vitamins, food products; we just got fake name-brand Windex. If i wanted alibaba slop I'd buy it myself. How does Amazon consistently get away with being a middleman for blatant fraud?.

If you want people to use your AI-powered help UI, don't make it look like Intercom, make it look like ChatGPT. It sounds superficial but it's the same idea as banner-blindness. Consumers associate the old UI with frustration and failure and the new UI with success.

I love a good counter example:.- Good UX is critical! But - Good naming is critical! But OpenAI.- Good web presence is critical! But midjourney (until recently had no web app).- constant shipping is critical! But Craigslist.

Glimpse of future: biggest employer of voice actors is voice AI. Biggest employer of attorneys is Law AI. Etc… . Feels like you end up with these ivory towers of the top 1% in each field training models and all customers interfacing with the models.

We place a higher value on something that is scarce. So when professional-sounding text and cool images become abundant, we're gonna adapt and find ways of parsing them out. That's why we've found delve, em-dash, etc. It's a cat and mouse game that will keep going.
