Shout out to the amazing folks working on this ecosystem. The potential is there. The challenge? Making Drupal's first impression as inviting as the community behind it. 💙

If we want to bring in new users, we need to rethink the first-time experience. How do we make Drupal as easy to try as its competitors?

Providing a quick, interactive demo of Drupal CMS is hard—it's expensive, risky, and requires serious infrastructure. But the current experience? It's an unfortunate failure.

But if a potential user can't easily experience Drupal's power in real-time, we're losing them before they even get started.

This is frustrating because the energy around Drupal CMS right now—Recipes, Project Browser, XB—is incredible. The people building these tools are talented, passionate, and pushing the project forward.

Meanwhile, I had zero issues spinning up a site on Webflow, WordPress dot com, and other competing platforms. Smooth onboarding, instant results.

Additionally, after attempting to submit the form, I hit this error with multiple legit email addresses: "Invalid email: Detected as fake or unreachable, Please provide a genuine email address." 🤦‍♂️

With Acquia being a major contributor to the new features and revamp of modern Drupal, I don’t have a problem with them being a preferred vendor. However, I don’t feel the goals of Drupal CMS (simple, usable, approachable) are reflected in an enterprise-looking sign-up form.

After clicking through, I ended up on an Acquia lead-gen form to try out DrupalCMS for 4 hours 🤔
