Pastors, the best way to avoid the activity of our own soul is noise and busyness. This means silence and stillness is a necessary daily discipline for us. Remember, constant noise and busyness can cause us to get a lot done and be quite productive. But at what cost?

One of the benefits of being a woman in my 40s is being able to give men in their 20s some of the comfort, encouragement & loving rebuke they need. Young men desperately need older, male mentors. But I believe there's also real value in motherly relationships within the church.
