There's a certain buyer type that always goes with the most expensive option. If you don't have more expensive items than your competitors, that buyer would not buy from you.

The reason almost all of the accounts I manage are bid caps today is because of this. Random days like this with 3-4x CPA increases can mean losing thousands of dollars. And for what?. I'll be moving all campaigns to bid caps for all accounts I manage.
