i think it is funny when i get harassed by transphobes for being a gay trans man bc yeah verbally and sexually harassing me for my identity is definitely not something gay men experience u r so right

just as someone who's been the secondary/non-nesting partner this whole time i cannot express the psychological damage it would have done to me if my partner treated me like the latter and not the former lol

ultimately my concern comes down to "are you pursuing this relationship bc you genuinely want a relationship with someone where both of you grow and support each other or is this just something fun and experimental for you"

it wasn't cringe when my partner did it (they weren't married at the time anyway) bc he was not a "bi man looking to explore" but bc we became friends and had a connection and he was able to pursue a relationship with me naturally

listen i am in a polyamorous relationship with a bisexual man who's married to a woman to this is not a blanket statement on everyone like that but whenever i see a post in a polyam group about a straight-married bi person who's opening the relationship to "explore." 🚩🚩🚩

I'm only speaking for myself but again. before transitioning I was hit on awkwardly once. since transitioning I have had a man threaten to murder me, two more try to fuck me and get me to make porn while I was working, and a group of men heckle/catcall me

malgendering too just feels like such a pre-t concept ultimately bc since transitioning ppl acknowledging my maleness in harmful ways has rather been the two instances where men tried to get me to fuck them at work bc i'm such an obvious twink

my point here being that like it's not actually a phenomenon unique to trans men. being suspicious of men purely bc they are men is actually a consequence of patriarchy and men trying to maintain control over families/property/etc

i am not stealth in general but i am when i work w/ kids bc i know that being out as gay and trans will invite even *more* scrutiny. but it's not like i don't already have scrutiny as a male employee. ask any man in that field they'll tell you lol

my thoughts on malgendering atm is that as someone who works w/ kids, passes as male, and is mostly stealth when working w/ kids, you do have to be more careful about what you do w/ them as a man just regardless. yeah it's not fair but that's how it goes
