Looks like Ryanair realising how bad this looked have somehow managed to resolve and return the plane back to where it started from. That was a nice bit of wasted fuel and time. .
Ryanair website is now showing Stansted as destination. It was Cologne previously.

Ryanair 💩show for you all. A flight that should never have been cleared to leave, unable to land as scheduled in Edinburgh, and now, diverted to Cologue, in GERMANY!!
A 737 doing 91 kts ground speed on approach is not something you see everyday.
