I’ve just learnt that dogs can’t tell the difference between red and yellow. I guess that’s why they are so bad at Connect 4.

I predict that the CofE will say that they are not responsible for yesterday’s disastrous data breach. That’s nonsense because i) it is THEIR victims who have been exposed, and ii) they made a specific commitment that names and email addresses wouldn’t be shared with the Church.

Following today’s horrendous data breach by the Church of England, the Secretary General William Nye, who has overall responsibility for safeguarding, must resign. The government also needs to step in to stop the church managing its own safeguarding failures.

The Church of England has repeatedly argued that it is competent to manage its own safeguarding failures. It is now time for the government to step in. @jessphillips.

BREAKING: Survivors of @churchofengland abuse tell me tonight they’re furious at what appears to be a huge data breach with the failure to hide the names of nearly 200 recipients of an email on compensation to be paid out. More to follow on @Channel4News.

It has been four hours now since the Church of England leaked the names and email addresses of almost 200 survivors of church abuse. No bishop or safeguarding official has resigned. The church has made no statement. None of those affected has been contacted to offer support.

There are 32,000 asylum seekers in UK hotels needing alternative accommodation. There are approximately 38,500 churches in the UK.

It looks as though many hotels currently housing asylum seekers are going to be closed at short notice because of a court ruling. This would be a great moment for churches to step up and offer alternative accommodation in homes and families.

If there was a problem with this Thought for the Day, then the producer who signed it off ought to step up and take responsibility, not leave KK hung out to dry. They should explain why they thought it was ok on Tuesday night, but had changed their mind on Wednesday morning.

Fear is learned — but so is hope. As A-level results approach and political headlines stoke anxiety about “strangers” in our communities, it’s worth remembering: most of the fears that divide us are not innate, they’re taught. In today’s Thought for the Day, I explore why

All these matches seem to be won on penalties. Maybe next time they should not bother with the earlier stuff and just do the penalties. That way they wouldn’t all get so tired.
