While this article doesn’t conclude anything and misinterprets the 10,000 hours rule a bit, it does re-open the conversation as to if hounding your child to be a savant (mostly for your own ego) is - in the end - just another form of child abuse.

Great conversation with Julie Hyman.
52% of data center projects have been delayed because there aren't "enough people to build them out," Autodesk president @andrew_anagnost says, adding: "There's almost an 11-month backlog on data centers."

I have spoken many times about how the CSU system - and @csunorthridge specifically - saved me from falling through the cracks and gave me the opportunity to move beyond the mistakes and challenges of my youth. It is an honor and privilege to be have the means to give back to an

Confession: the first concert I ever went to was a New Year’s Eve Ozzy Osborne show on the Crazy Train tour. It’s amazing he lasted as long as he did. R.I.P

Great piece by @JigarShahDC & Raj Pannu in today’s NYT: We’re not just short on materials—we’re short on systems that can deliver what the future demands. Smart infrastructure starts with aligning design + make. The time to fix it is now.

It’s not just the older infrastructure that’s in need of repair and replacement. It’s also the new systems the 21st century demands.

Hmm. I seem to remember something like this in a movie I saw…now what was that movie?

Even if you hate Elon, don’t disparage this feat by the @SpaceX team. It’s amazing the kind of efficiency they’re bringing to orbital access. The US alone saves $100’s of millions of dollars to get payloads to orbit. This may have been a publicity stunt, but it’s an impressive
SpaceX continues to keep up its torrid launch pace, sending three missions to orbit from three different pads over the course of a day and a half.
