After 25+ years with @UtahDPS, including seven as Commissioner, I’m retiring to begin a new chapter with more time for family. I'm grateful for the trust, teamwork, and mission of Keeping Utah Safe. Thank you all. It’s been the honor of a lifetime.

We’re saddened to share that former DPS Commissioner Scott Duncan has passed away. Commissioner Duncan dedicated decades of service to Utah, from trooper to colonel to commissioner. His leadership, integrity, and legacy will always be remembered by the department he helped shape.

Yesterday, DPS held its 4th Annual Faith-Based Symposium. Thank you to the Utah Jewish Federation for hosting and to all who joined us to strengthen trust, collaboration, and safety in our communities.

Today’s EMS Banquet honored 50 years of paramedics pioneering emergency medical response in Utah. Thank you, @GovCox, for attending and declaring this EMS Week. We're proud to have EMS under @UtahDPS and excited to continue advancing emergency care together and Keeping Utah Safe.

This morning, we held our monthly new employee orientation. It is always a priority for me and our leadership team to personally welcome each new member of DPS. Meeting face to face allows us to share our values, goals, and commitment to Keeping Utah Safe. Welcome aboard!

Today’s Utah Law Enforcement Memorial ceremony carried even deeper meaning as we honored Sgt. Hooser of Santaquin PD, just days before the one-year anniversary of his ultimate sacrifice. We will never forget him. His legacy lives on in our commitment to Keeping Utah Safe.

The ASCIA Spring Conference provided an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas, strengthen relationships, and learn from public safety leaders nationwide. Thank you to the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation for hosting. I look forward to our continued collaboration.

Today's ceremonial signing of public safety bills was an important step in strengthening safety across Utah. Thank you to the Governor, Lt. Governor, legislators, & all our partners who made this possible. Together, we continue working toward our shared goal of Keeping Utah Safe.

Kicked off another employee meeting with our dedicated Driver License Division team. Huge thanks to them for coming in on a Saturday to stay informed and engaged, ensuring they never compromise their time serving the public. Grateful for their commitment to Keeping Utah Safe!

This week, we started our employee meetings in the southern regions, beginning with our dispatch communications team and UHP. These meetings allow us to update on legislation, strategy, and budgeting while connecting with the DPS team. We are grateful for their dedication!

I enjoyed attending the Utah Chiefs Conference, where we celebrated UHP's award while also dedicating an important moment to honor Sgt. Hooser and his family. I feel grateful for the strong partnerships in law enforcement that drive our shared commitment to Keeping Utah Safe.

This morning, I had the privilege of speaking at the @GLFOP Order of Police Spring Meeting, hosted by our local @UtahFOP. Collaboration between our organizations is essential for enhancing public safety, fostering accountability, and building stronger communities.

I had the opportunity to be interviewed on how state public safety leaders are collaborating and sharing innovative ideas to enhance safety in our communities. I am grateful for the chance to discuss our work in Keeping Utah Safe.

Today, I presented our Fentanyl Task Force priorities at the Utah Drug Unit Commanders Meeting. Team members from the SIAC, crime lab, and other DPS divisions offered crucial insights on emerging trends, next steps, and challenges, emphasizing the importance of collaboration.

Happy Valentine’s Day to my wife and to all the incredible spouses of our first responders. It’s not easy, but we couldn’t do this without our support system, our rocks. Many can’t even celebrate today because duty calls. Thank you for standing by us.
