I haven’t posted in awhile...but I need to let this go & felt writing it might help. I love teaching but that is not what I feel like I’m doing right now. I hate the feeling of just getting through it. I’m better than this yet I feel like I can’t do better right now. #frustrated

I have been thinking the same thing. Also, do the families of the kids have to quarantine as well? And what happens if a parent of a student has been exposed or is sick, do they have to let the school know??
So a teacher tests positive. Do they quarantine for 14 days? Are those sick days? Who pays for them? Will they still be required to teach while in quarantine? #COVID19

Today I had a student who just wanted to talk. So we did, she told me about what was going on in her life and I shared about mine. I miss my kids, my colleagues, the energy of my classroom and my school.

Today was a good day. We all got our work done, we practiced our instruments and we played. We are accepting our new routine and finding some peace in the things we can control.

This important for me to hear as a mama. I need to step back and let them do their thing!
This week, I noticed my boys become more independent and at ease when I took a step back and trusted them. Not justed trusted them to know the right answer...but trusted them to know it is OK to make a mistake or say I don't know. It is how they learn...how they grow...

I am going to get through this b/c of this👇🏼kid right here. I am trying to figure how to record using my phone & computer to show my class how to get google docs & she came strolling through & said “just do a screen recording” bam a few moments later I feel ready to teach. 💜 her

As a general rule at our elementary schools, we do not assign homework to our students especially over holidays and weekends. HOWEVER, we do expect children and families to dedicate time to reading every night for pleasure.

These kids were amazing as they built Rube Goldberg’s in the tinker lab. They were flexibile, resilient, helpful, and engaged! It was amazing to see how the complexity built over our time in the tinker lab. This is day 3!
