independent music is in a war of attrition against pay to play algorithms.we can't let fire emojis be the measure of our worth and absolutely have to build our own communities.join artists discords, mailing lists not just to support independents but to be independent yourself ✊
if you’re wondering how to make what people want, you’re an entertainer. if you’re wondering why no one wants what you make, congratulations dumb dumb, you’re an artist
This is a picture of me at age 12 making tape edits. It’s how I started making music. I would make new versions of songs I recorded off the radio by editing & bouncing through different cassette recorders. I'd sell the new versions of the songs at school the next day.

music is a project, identity is a brand, creative process is workflow, expression is content and it’s not experienced it’s consumed. resist the sneaky language that reduces us all to drones. resist! ✊
it's crazy to me that most people will never get to hear these tracks. but the people that do are making everything else we put out on regular streaming possible. so I bring my best whether it's for many ears or a few
what I’ve realised releasing under different names is I could bang on a tin can and it would still sound like me doing it whether i like it or not. stuck with ourselves for better or worse
I’ve been told countless times by PR wisdom that you can’t just release music, you have to tell a story. but apparently fuck off twat isn’t a great story
doing a low key secret set in LA tonight 🤫 playing some of these excellent tunes by

..clip is clipping I know, just practicing in pj's
think my exact words were pitchfork can gargle my balls. realizing I could go from a 10/10 to a 5/10 based on how relevant i was. a strong lesson in that you’re neither as good or as bad as the whim of the press might suggest
i had to ask them to switch the music at a cafe i was at today because it’s a record i have fused to a vicious heartbreak in my mind : ) so embarrassing 🤦♂️anyone else have music that fucks them up enough to bother cafe staff or is it just me who’s mental?
Testing out some modules in the studio. Interesting interactions between individual harmonics generated by verbos HO and ADDAC for flute sounds. Metasonix tubes creating overtones for filters and erratic camerawork for bonus nausea
one of my personal heroes in dn'b. an honor to make something together and the album is so fucking good.
Amon Tobin & Current Value: The All Attracting. Out on April 15 on YUKU Records:
i realized that in 20 years dj'ing i never had a reason to be on camera so this is a new one for me. fortunately i'm in great company with

bringing the 🔥
Two Fingers DJ mix from 2019 new years eve in San Francisco. A carefree dn'b weighted romp through heavy bass science old and new. Includes classic TF along with glimpses at forthcoming releases:
spilling the beans on my jealously guarded DJ secrets back in the day. these days I play things more close to the chest but let me know if some little how to videos might be useful to anyone
got some of my favorite tunes new and old in this mix. the mighty

's doing the most gloriously uncompromising shit and i can't wait to hear what

are bringing to the party.
I’m late this month with a Nomark Club track but I’ve been learning new tricks on the visual front. sounds are made using combinations of LPG’s from both buchla synths and rabbid elephant hardware. full track here
i try to think about music releases like flirting when I was younger. your efforts count a bit but mostly it’s down to whether they like your ass at that moment
been putting some stuff on YouTube. this one really is for the synth dorks like me but there’s a bunch of other things on there too now.

This is what happened then. In 2019 I was at a bit of a crossroads. I’d gone offline for a number of years since touring my biggest record on ninja tune while I developed a batch of albums under different aliases. namely Two Fingers, Figueroa, Only Child Tyrant and Stone Giants.
my debut album as stone giants comes out today. seven years in the making which is obviously too long. in any case it’s on matters of the heart so be ready to clutch your collars and cry salty tears
every month I put something carefully made out for a small group of people. this month it’s a track I’d reserved for my sets and kept in the dark for years. it’s a big one and I’m happy to finally share
a body of work is usually just the result of an mad focus on some process or other. I’ll compulsively make the same track over and over again in different ways sometimes for years
it blows my mind we’re coming up on five years of nomark club. I was worried I could deliver at first honestly at east to the level I wanted to. if you’re new or if you’ve been with me from the start I appreciate the ongoing confidence in my future output.
remember that south park where everyone became a yelp reviewer?randy can’t come to dinner because he’s sculpting his next review like a poet.can’t blame ourselves for thinking we have something vital to say when given a platform.doesn’t mean we do though.this tweet for example 🤷🏼♂️
figueroa is something I’ve been developing for years and years. it’s still evolving in parallel with my other aliases. the debut album ‘the world as web know it’ was one of my proudest moments so I’m marking it’s release with a new song and epic fantasy video by shy1 next week
