Everyone wants lower property taxes, but no one in government seems to want *pain.* Pain is:. 1. Making hard spending cuts;.2. Deferring borrowing decisions;.3. Reforming the appraisal system; or.4. Paying more in sales tax. They want the voters to have all the pain.

Local needs to be reigned in, ISDs levying taxes for debt. Ppl don’t realize it’s local not state imposed, ppl don’t realize he lowered doesn’t mean it’s not raised on the other end to offset the exemptions or debts. Why no one will EVER feel property tax relief 👇🏻👇🏻.
Travis County declares an emergency after floods and will raise taxes 9.12% without voter approval. On top of the City of Austin proposal to raise taxes 10.5%, this will/could be a 19.62% increase for homeowners. This is willful gentrification folks 🤬

@MaryDunlaphome You’ve yet to state what the false narrative was that I purportedly pushed. I was in disagreement with hb1481, tasb did agree with it, I was told in MY ISD, by Board & admin that they couldn’t do anything, & that their guidance tasb given was that state had to impose law. I don’t.

Yes, we have to rasie your taxes to pay for the flood. Sure we didn't really show up when needed, kept neighboring emergency services out and basically just confused everyone. But pay your fair share and like it peasant.
