Even though his stuff is very hit and miss, when he did hit it was the best music in the entire genre imo.

Some of the greatest authors hated the actual writing process, because it is very much labor, and not particularly fun a lot of the time.

People who dabble in writing are always talking about “waiting for inspiration”, but that’s not at all how actual finished books come about.

This is probably true of other artistic mediums too, but particularly in regard to writing books, one has to have some degree of craftsman’s discipline to sit down and grind away, even when the creativity isn’t necessarily flowing. Otherwise nothing gets done.
