You can now use AWS CDK L2 constructs to create your WebSocket API powered by AppSync Events. In the example below, I create the API, create a channel namespace, and grant publish access to a Lambda function. Easy. Try it today with the latest version of CDK.

AWS Lambda just shipped the Node.js 22 managed runtime, just in time for pre:Invent! You can use this runtime in all commercial regions, and of course with Powertools for AWS Lambda (TypeScript), SAM, and CDK. Check out the blog post:

used the new aws websocket service for a week now i haven't seen this good of a release from aws in a while - it's well thought through for advanced cases but also simple and lets you avoid heavy aws patterns if you want and it's reliable and performant the interesting bit is

I'm super excited to finally announce AWS AppSync Events - a new feature that lets you easily build real-time experiences with WebSocket APIs! 🚀 No more worrying about WebSocket infrastructure or scaling. Just create your API and publish events.

Just found out that @WebStormIDE conditional type inference is wrong (in my case), now I have serious trust issues. Is it common across different IDEs? Zed and VSCode show consistent, correct inference 🤨

been using hono+lambda for a bit but finally moving the sst console and wow what a difference the whole "granular functions, one per route" was such bad guidance as a default

it's funny to see the serverless debate on here juxtaposed with the workloads that i see here's a public one - 35,000 employee company delivering 7.1M packages a day they weren't even building their own software until 5 years ago

The story of @PostNL's journey to serverless engineering is now free to read. I wrote the PostNL case study for @sheenbrisals' & @level_out's awesome Serverless Development on AWS book last year. I am super happy it's available on the PostNL Blog. https://t.co/r14JMqFjWN

TIL that on Lambda, the Node.js console.trace method behaves quite differently than how you'd expect. Instead of printing a full stack trace it only prints a log with level "TRACE" and that's it! #aws #lambda #Serverless
