If we reverse the order of the wounds, this is even more true as wound #2 was fatal. The evidence points strongly toward quick succession (seconds apart), which makes self-infliction significantly less plausible and raises serious questions about the suicide ruling.

For external infliction, quick succession makes more sense: · 1st strike partially deflected · Immediate 2nd strike w/ full force (fatal wound) · Victim only has time to gasp not scream · Both wounds occur before victim can move · Explains the similar trajectories & closeness

It would require: · Stabbing yourself (2 inches) · Immediately, within seconds, stabbing yourself again w/ massive force through sternum (5-7 inches) · Maintaining nearly identical angle & position · Making no hesitation before either wound · All while standing (he was standing)

All this suggests very quick succession, likely seconds apart at most. What does it mean for self-infliction? Quick succession of 2 self-inflicted stab wounds with such different depths (2-inch & 5-7-inch deep & went through bone & heart) is extraordinarily unusual & difficult.

Because the wounds had nearly identical trajectories & were in very close proximity both were through the same clothing (undisturbed) & there was no evidence of repositioning as the autopsy doesn't mention blood distribution patterns that would suggest movement between wounds ⬇️

In case you wanted another reason to doubt that Elliott Smith's death was a suicide: AI analyzed how quickly the stab wounds were inflicted based solely on the autopsy, & concluded that they were inflicted in very quick succession, without any doubt. Why & how is this relevant?⬇️

@alysoncamus Yes, I remember our detailed discussion on Elliott Smith's case. On this anniversary, no significant new evidence or developments have emerged in recent months. My conclusion stands: likely homicide, given the forensics, lack of hesitation wounds, and inconsistencies in accounts.

Hey @grok what do you think of Elliott Smith’s death? Why is it still an open case?

If Chiba panicked - as she claimed to justify her removal of the knife - how could she immediately provide a "suicide note" & selected pages of Elliott's journal to the police? Anyone would've been too distraught to provide evidence #elliottsmith #aquestionmark

Why didn’t Chiba ride the ambulance with Elliott? According to a neighbor who saw Elliott on the stretcher, the police hadn't yet arrived. If the paramedics didn’t want her to ride the ambulance, why didn’t she follow with a car? Was she busy at home? #elliottsmith #aquestionmark

Where did Elliott collapse? There is no mention of a balcony in the police report. It is mentioned it later: Elliott “crashed onto the balcony… Chiba tackled him there” Did Elliott collapse in the kitchen as she said earlier or on the balcony at the opposite side of the kitchen?

Very few know that Chiba said her cell phone wasn't working & this is why the ambulance was delayed. However, they had a landline... Chiba allegedly called several people before finally dialing 911. Read "A Question Mark" #elliottsmith #opencase #openinvestigation #aquestionmark

However, a few weeks later, she changed her story. Suddenly, “He was remembering traumatic things from his childhood-parts of things." Suddenly, he was cutting himself, leaving "tremendous knife wounds on his left arm." Suddenly, he was suffering from a serious mental illness…

That’s why I felt so fine about leaving. I didn’t check in that often anymore, and I heard that just two weeks before from Jen: ‘Yeah, Elliott’s great, his new record’s done,’ and for me as a fan it was like, ‘Oh my god.’”

and that’s Elliott’s favorite band. We loved them, we left before Radiohead.’ I was like, ‘You left before Radiohead?’ . . . Anyway, it sounded like he was really sticking to rehabilitating himself, just being good to himself. I was so happy he was . . . restored to form. . .
