3/4 President Emmert: "We need to hear the voices of students. They are seen as authentic. We need to give them forums-we then stand a chance to let people understand what college athletics can offer. Athletic communicators play a big part in helping them tell these (stories)."
Yesterday, the WBB season came to an end. The experience was beyond what I ever thought.
Being a WBB SID was a dream that developed in my senior year in college at 21 years old. I never thought I would accomplish it at 25.
First tournament game to cover as a WBB SID. Best part was getting the W. Also a big shoutout to
@ColemanESPN
and
@tykeracarter
for being the best talent today.🏀
On the last day of
@CollSportsComm
Appreciation Week, I just want to say thank you to everyone who has supported me on this journey. Proud to be a part of the SID profession.❤️

This is an exciting way to begin 2021 as tomorrow I began a new chapter in my SID career. Thankful to be back in the profession I love while also earning my Master’s degree. Here is to new adventures.

I was supposed to go to
@CoSIDAnews
Convention in Las Vegas in 2020 before the pandemic took it away. Two years later, I finally get to make the trip to my first in-person convention. So excited!🎉
Three years ago this month, I was a
@WBCA1981
intern who lost the opportunity to work a convention and Final Four due to the pandemic.
Now I’m the SID covering
@SacredHeartWBB
first NCAA Tournament win.🏀
Incredible to see the positives that have come out of the unprecedented.
Another 🏀 season has come and gone, and my last year with
@SacredHeartWBB
couldn't be sweeter.
This team encountered many trials, but responded with resilience and grit. And ended up going to their first NCAA Tournament since 2012!
Today was a doubleheader kind of day. Started out with an afternoon game at Vandy followed by an evening game at Belmont. But overall, I was happy to be in my happy spot. Eight more games before my move to SC.
@ScorersTableTST
This past week, I had the opportunity to work at the NCAA MLAX Championship in Hartford. Great atmosphere and awesome people to work with. In addition, to meeting fellow

members
@ChasDorman
and Ann for the first time in person. 🥍🏆
Blessed to be on this journey. Being on the autism spectrum isn’t easy, but it doesn’t stop me from making an impact in the world.

Being a women in sports means everything. Proud to be the contact for three women’s teams and two men’s teams. But even more proud to be a part of this industry.

Update: Fever is gone. Still have a bad cough. But I am in the clear to recovery. Last day of quarantine is today and I have to wear my mask for the next five. Thank you to everyone who checked on me this week.
As Autism Awareness and Acceptance Month comes to a close, I want to say how proud I am to be on the spectrum.
Having autism has its ups and down, but it doesn’t stop you from doing big things in the world.
Proud to be doing what I’m doing as an autistic individual.
My first ever
@CoSIDAnews
panel. So excited to be sitting down with this talented group and discuss our experiences and talk with students interested in the profession.

Attended my first ever media day as an SID. Got to sit in on interviews and social media while running into old faces and meeting new ones. Can’t wait for the start of hoops season!🏀
Last night I had the opportunity to shadow another WNBA team. Best part was serving as a stat runner. Worst part was press conferences getting canceled due to a fire on the fourth floor. Thank you John and Las Vegas Aces for having me. 🏀
How it started ➡️ how it’s going🏀🏆
From HS state champ as manager with
@CPALionsWBB
to college conference champ as SID with
@SacredHeartWBB
.
It’s amazing what can happen in 10 years.
This week, I had the pleasure of shadowing the Connecticut Sun. Got to see the game courtside for the first time ever. Great atmosphere and experience. And Mohegan Sun is a beautiful place.🏀
On Day 3 of
@CollSportsComm
appreciation week. Got to thank the head coaches who I have the privilege to work with. Having a relationship with your HC is an important part of being an SID. Thank you for putting your trust in me in making your teams successful.

Couldn’t ask for a better crew in Mom and Dad to come down and help me get ready for this.
Also thank you

@SHU_MSoc
for coming out to see us off.
Officially Master Hogue.🎓
Thank you SHU for the best two years. Thank you to my family and friends for supporting me throughout my journey. Thank you to my classmates, professors, colleagues, and student-athlete for making my grad school experience the best.❤️🤍
One of the best in the biz. She was my first ever co-captain in the CoSIDA Fitness Challenge and one of the very first SIDs I talked to while I was on the job market. Thank you
@MarissaAvanzato
for all you did in the SID world. Best wishes in your new role.
Couldn’t ask for an amazing coach to work with on this amazing journey.
She’s been the HC at SHU for 10 years and just earned her first NCAA bid.
Congrats
@jmnetter33
. Blessed to have worked with you the last two years.

Never thought my scoreboard experience in high school and college would prepare me to become the primary contact for softball. Two more days until the season. So pumped.🎾
How it started ➡️ How it’s going
Never thought in 1️⃣7️⃣ years my passion for soccer would reignite, but in a different way.
Fact: Girls can be the SID for men’s sports too.

I wear a mask so the student-athletes can play. I challenge everyone in college athletics to do the same. Doing your part makes a difference.
#WearaMask
Ran the CoSIDA 5K on my old cross country course. A 3.11 mile run that took me to retracing the route I ran five years ago while my dad and the fireflies cheered me on. Proud of this accomplishment and getting back into running.
@CoSIDAnews
Spent my day off taking photos at softball practice. Credits to
@sam_asalways
and my MTSU photography class for teaching and preparing me for the day these moments would come.

Bittersweet day as it was
@michaelsmoose
last day at
@SHUBigRed
. Thank you for giving me an opportunity to grow in my career! You taught me so much that has helped me grow into the SID professional I am today. Going to miss tag teaming with you on 🏐 stats.
Most of my bad days come from having hi-function anxiety. In these moments, I feel terrible and feel like its hard to fight through. It even leads me to dark places.
To the
@SacredHeartWBB
senior class, it has been amazing getting to watch you grow the last two years.
Looking forward to seeing what you accomplish in your futures.🏀❤️🎓
