Something absolutely bizarre to me as Western fan is actor fandom fighting. Just never experienced it. In West, fantasy/sci-fi crowd can be intense, but usually squabbling over the franchises, but Asian fan rivalries spill into real life impact on *actors*😬

My hot theory is that seeing that only makjang shows are getting 20% recently; she reverted back to her roots of sprinkling makjang. Win-win cause int fans love the pairing and domestic fans love Makjang.
You know if we were back 20 years ago, we wouldn't have complained about QOT and PJE. Kdramas back then had all the tropes we absolutely hate now and we LOVED and DEVOURED them. We can only blame too much for choice, ourselves for evolving, and writers for not.

Some thoughts:
1. Kdrama twt favours certain shows (Netflix , hot stars or hallyu , romance) which isn’t all of what Netflix audience wants
2. Also, big fanbases (hallyu , idols) May lead you to overestimate popularity of shows
The only good thing going on NETFLIX right now is Korean Contents.... Bloodhounds was a good drama for me as a regular drama watcher but one of my irl friend told this was one of the best action drama she has seen....

Awards are never given according to those who can act. It's a combination of factors including cast popularity, drama buzz, ratings. Even if it's acting awards by panel of judges, it's also dependent on these factors. Awards are a bonus but not a benchmark of one's acting skills.

My fave carrying a show on his/her own is never a compliment for me - it just means the show must be lacking. When everything comes together in harmony, that's usually means my fave has chosen well and proved their mettle in firm collaboration with others. That satisfies.
