My first children's book, KEEP YOUR HEAD UP is out now! From Denene Millner Books | Simon & Schuster
at my computer.
Joined October 2008
Many years ago, I taught this kid in Elizabeth, New Jersey. I often stopped Derrick in the halls to tell him to keep his head up. Last year, I ran into him and I almost passed out to see him healthy and growing. Our story became my first children's book--PUB DAY TODAY.

He could read and write. Not sure where that came from…
@_ValTown_ He bought the coat AFTER he attended the Ali Frazier fight and saw lesser hoods at the fight all furred up in coats. It wasn't a gift from wife and he never burned the coat....all that was Hollywood fiction....beside cat could barely read and write.

Literally every album I came here to say--it's here.
What album by a Black woman in roughly the same time period 80s to now, would you consider among the all-time classics in the way that we think of albums like Thriller, and Sign of the Times? Has a woman created a full album that is that much of a classic in your view?

The husband is talented. Hire him and he might roll up wearing hoochie shorts. Bonus!

The Cosby Show. Cliff finally gets the doorbell right and it turns into jazz music. Cliff and Clair walk off set and into the studio audience who is giving a standing ovation.

Is it weird that I don't know which one is me and which one is my husband?

Is it weird for not-actually-old Mandy Moore to act against actual older women?

I randomly heard That's What Friends Are For today. I was only 12 when it dropped. Today, Elton John's vocals hit different. He was singing-singing on that joint. Like, welcome-to-the-cookout-singing.

I had to give up Diet Coke a while back. I miss it. This picture had me feeling things.

Jay-Z, Vol. 2 Hard Knock Life. I was walking to my job at The Source. I knew I wasn't gonna get a freebie copy cause I was too low on the masthead. 🙄
Last one I remember buying mighta been PE’s It Takes a Nation of Millions. I only really remember mostly buying (or getting) CDs after that 🤷🏾♂️

...that moment when you see a Tweet and immediately want to tag your husband. And then realize he wrote it.
