Very proud to share the results of our CRADLE-4 Trial: for women with pre-eclampsia, planned delivery from 34 weeks significantly reduces stillbirth & severe maternal HTN; a critical intervention to save lives in low & lower-middle income countries .

Highly recommend this episode - my take home points were: (1) the horrifying number of women with HG who experience suicidal ideation - nearly 7% (2) not being afraid to prescribe ondansetron (3) empowering primary care colleagues and all following the same guideline!.
Thank you Florence for inviting us to record this HG podcast .✅ what causes HG?.✅ how does HG affect physical and mental health.✅ update on @RCObsGyn guideline. @HGSupportUK @HGmoms @fivexmore @M0MSuk @bethangoulden @jennerobsmed @anitaobsmed @twiglett2k @midwifeMaryLyn.

Check out our short film which tells the story of planned early birth for late preterm pre-eclampsia and why it matters 👩🏽🍼 @KingsGHI.
This short 10 minute film demonstrates why we should consider routine delivery from 34 weeks in all women with pre-eclampsia. @The_MRC @kingsmedicine . #CRADLE4. @alicebgray

Loved reading this. PN care & interventions🔑to ⬇️ long-term mortality; And not just HIV/TB - 🤰affected by pre-eclampsia face 2⃣ x risk of stroke and 4⃣ x risk of Chronic HTN; LIC and LMIC account for 86% of early deaths due to NCDs. Maternal health matters beyond 42 days. .
🚨Our paper is out now in BJOG! 🚨Women in Africa may face a⬆️risk of death for longer than the 42-day postpartum period🤰, but what do they die of between 43-365 days? Tl;dr mostly non-obstetric causes - HIV & TB, other infectious dis, and some NCDs 1/
