Just seen at PTMC in Lisbon. Portugal has exported 33t+ of medical cannabis YTD (Aug 2025), already surpassing 2024, despite recent delays. Nearly all goes to Germany. Infarmed won’t say how much is grown locally vs re-exported, but industry contacts suggest most is imported.

According to a recently published reply to a parliamentary inquiry, the German federal government expects the first decisions on cannabis research projects under the § 2(4) KCanG “Forschungsklausel” (for cannabis dispensing) in Q3 2025. We're already in September.
