Time to post a few images from my latest book, The Great Wilderness. This is one of the best examples of Lewisian Gneiss I have come across. Flame-like and sculptural in nature it was the perfect foreground subject for this wide scene of the Beinn Deargs and Lochan na Bearta.

7 years ago one of my clients stepped on the buckle for the hipbelt of their backpack in the Drakensberg rendering it useless. For 7 years I have carried a replacement buckle with me in my kit (10g). Yesterday it happened again. Replacement buckle to the rescue!
