While I appreciate a lot of the sentiment of this article, boiling these films down to “be nice to each other” is a little simplistic - and also the genre label “hopecore” I just can’t get on board with.

Project Hail Mary feels like a radical act of optimism, proof that high-stakes sci-fi doesn’t have to be cynical. It finds awe in curiosity, connection, and the idea that even the most ordinary person can rise to meet something extraordinary.

I watch some films and dream of acting in films like them. PROJECT HAIL MARY is the type of film I dream of writing and directing one day - high concept but intimate - full of heart, hope and soul. much needed joy with magic that brought me back to stories I loved growing up.

GOD OF WAR and GOD OF WAR: RAGNORAK are two of the most beautifully written games. I really hope the series does them justice. Also it’d be amazing to see @DeborahAnnWoll reprise her role as Faye in the series. At the very least I hope she’s playing Faye in the rumored prequel.

As I wasn’t nominated for an Oscar this year, I’ll just be watching at home. Sorry guys…

I didn’t go to college, drama school or film school and look where it got me! I’m a struggling actor/filmmaker like the rest of them! But seriously - it’s meant that I really hold every opportunity, and every failure as a chance to develop as an artist. That’s my education.

I’m working a little differently on my latest feature. Usually I’ll outline the entire thing before writing. This time - I’ve created a broad shape of the screenplay. Then I outlined Act I and wrote it. Now I’m finessing it, and seeing what I discover before outlining Act 2.
