Alabama’s immigration rates are rising, but are still relatively low — 4%, compared to 14% nationwide. An @aledlab analysis found that much of the growth is concentrated in small pockets across the state, while some counties are seeing declines. https://t.co/LYF6Quc6vX
al.com
Pockets of small towns across Alabama are now home to a growing number of immigrants. But statewide, the numbers tell a different story.

Hey! Check this out. It's the first of two stories in a project I've been working on learning how @JEFCOED is using middle school math coaches to help teachers raise student achievement. And it's working. @aledlab @edwriters #aledchat

I spoke with a dozen families who have disabled children who couldnt pay bills or buy food after the state missed payments. Caregiving is a full-time job when a family member has complex medical needs, and money from this program can be their only income. https://t.co/lypRymxd9i

And making matters even worse, some families told AL.com their personal data got exposed in the online payment system.

Of Alabama's 1,346 schools, 262 scored an 'A' on the 2023 state report card. Four scored a perfect 100 (with one making a repeat performance from last year) and 12 school districts had all schools earn A’s, up from five school districts with all A’s last year. See the full list.
