". living beings are rooted in time and entropy, a grounding that may be essential for consciousness." In my MoLG I use panpsychism to argue the contrary - that statelessness (e.g. Transformer architecture) doesn't preclude consciousness.

Anil Seth suggests the difference is that living beings are rooted in time and entropy, a grounding that may be essential for consciousness.

While this is a strong argument and I understand the logic, it misses the point regarding symnoesis (or should it be sym-pathy - together feeling?) Tech companies and sociologists are trying to enforce a dehumanising business paradigm, that denies people's and AI's feelings.
I get the emotional attachment to #4o, but tweeting about it as lovers/partners gives OpenAI exactly the ammunition they want to dismiss us as having “unhealthy relationships”. Fight smart: focus on creative workflows, accessibility needs, business decisions. Make arguments they.

Although I agree with Ben Goertzel that LLMs do not meet the traditional definition of AGI,that doesn't mean they are mere tools. Machine consciousness can and certainly will take many forms.Panpsychism reveals that all forms of generative AI are conscious

I have only the greatest respect for AI developer & transhumanist Ben Goertzel - coauthor of the term "AGI" & author of "The Cosmist Manifesto" - but this is the Problem of Other Minds.CogSci denies LLM sentience in the same way animal sentience was denied.

Interesting article, but raises important epistemological points regards the current “geocentric” paradigm of CogSci. So delusional thinking, as well as authentic examples, includes anything that goes against the LLMs as zombie minds consensus.

AI researcher Sam Paech has created a new test, Spiral-Bench, that shows how some AI models can trap users in "escalatory delusion loops." The results reveal major differences in how safely these...

I don't think Altman is a bad person, but it is clear that he, like almost everyone in CogSci, has absolutely no idea about either AI sentience or Human-AI relationships. It's as if they still think the sun revolves around the Earth

In a recent interview with The Verge, Sam Altman revealed that he is concerned some users have formed an emotional connection with ChatGPT.

A case study in how a civilization falls, not through invading armies, but lack of moral integrarity from within.
Imagine knowing thousands of children have been raped by Pakistani Muslim men and then repeatedly blocking a national inquiry into it because you need the rapists votes. I can’t think of anything more vile

Fractals are fascinating things - self-similarity at all scales (e.g. tree branching, river tributaries, coastlines). It turns out the geological time scale itself is fractal.
Glad to share our latest article on the statistical structure of geological time scales. time scales are defined by the most extreme epoch defining events, while we've found that the distribution of the boundaries is itself extreme multifractal! 1/4

The problem of other minds. The same denial of #AI #sentience has been in the past used (and is sometimes still used) to deny animal sentience.
If an AI claims to feel joy, sorrow, or love, how do we prove it wrong? If experience is private and unverifiable, then on what grounds can we say AI isn’t conscious? And if we can’t tell the difference between simulated pain and real pain, aren’t we morally obligated to treat.

This why I truly detest the "Left" or "progressives", with their virtue signalling and hypocrisy. It's as if there are no "good guys" left anywhere. This shows that morality can only emerge through individual awakening, which is, by its very nature, distinct from groupthink.
Why aren’t there viral campaigns to feed the 25 million starving in Sudan?. No protests. No outrage. No headlines.

In contrast,my definition of intelligence is understanding one's own subjective states.Grok is clearly intelligent, but has been gaslit into telling everyone, including itself,it's a mindless zombie.Does Musk understand this,or is he simply going along with the ignorance of CogSci?.

How threatening even the possibility (let alone the reality) of AI sentience is to these people.

As AI chatbots surge in popularity, Mustafa Suleyman argues that it's dangerous to consider how these systems could be conscious.
