At 10 and 11, my sister and I delivered 40 papers a night, six nights a week. Our papers were delivered to us straight from the factory so all profit was ours. We loved having our own money and still have many happy memories of how we used to spend it. It was the making of us.

We had a seven year old who asked to join our community class today. She doesn't love school. I've told her to take this into school to show her teacher. We're learning to love learning.

Today at our Engaged Scholarship Hub in the East End of Glasgow, we are starting a new community project on The Lungs. We'll focus on science and physical activity when we eventually teach local children, but first, we need to build up our own knowledge.
