Not done any models for a while, getting back into it, so just completed a Hurricane of 527 Radar Calibration Squadron. Supposed to have flown at @RAFHornchurch in 1943, eye catching to say the least !

Struggling to paint plastic to look like wood stowage on my Sherman so I decide to make some out of wood. Grain is oversized obviously but happier with this than the plastic stuff.

My standard operating procedure kicks in when I have ballsed up a paintjob, I winterize the F out of it. Hides all sorts of mess 🤣🥶🤣

Finally done on the WW1 tank, dont think I can make these rubber tracks look any more like metal with the materials I have, and added some oil/grease stains.

Well, In the end I went for just varnish in the areas where the decals went, rather than the whole model. Emhar decals went on ok, actually seemed quite thin compared to Tamiya. Then matt varnish over the whole model. Happy enough ( so far ) 👍

Building my first WW1 tank, always spoil models at this point when I overdo the gloss varnish prior to decals, so thought I'd take a final photo while it still looked ok 😂

Would anyone know what the TFM3 bit stands for in my great grandfathers paperwork. I believe the TF War bit is a territorial forces medal, am I right in thinking the roll is where its recorded somewhere ? (IWM, Records Office ?) Thanks in advance.
