As a woman, live for yourself, not for the male gaze. Because no matter your actions - like harmlessly dancing at a party - men will always attempt to subjugate & contain you. Your mere existence can provoke them to seek your humiliation. So, be yourself. Live for you.

I think the most interesting part of this conversation about marriage is that it highlights the differences in people's realities. For example, what some categorize as love and affection in marriage feels like utter insanity to me. Very interesting.

Yes. At the time, my friend & I were contracted to be part of the small team creating content for @IfyAniebo ’s project. On many occasions, she refused to pay (on time). She’d make excuses & get defensive when Chika asked. My friend & I had to get off the project for our sanity.

Doesn’t the fact that half the replies are people saying “it depends on who you marry” prove his point? The institution of marriage itself can be limiting & misogynistic. And unless you’re lucky to find a partner who isn’t about the patriarchy, you’ll likely experience

Who the fuck are you threatening? There are a million bootcamps for boys, that's why the ones for women exist, to achieve balance. Instead of crying online, why not use Google to find workshops for boys or consider starting one yourself? Who’s holding you?

Every single corner of recruitments, bootcamps, scholarship offerings - "girls and women only" In your quest for equality, you're neglecting the boy-child. The boy-child shouldn't be an afterthought. Your neglect of the boy-child will come at a price. This is a threat!

Also, the framing of this tweet bothers me. It prioritizes the man's feelings over the woman's, even though she's the one working hard for her money. "The man will think you're deliberately trying to insult him." Okay, and why should his feelings take precedence here?

There is no universe where misandry is as damaging as misogyny. Nobody, at least not in the overwhelming majority as is often the case with misogyny, has gotten killed as a result of "man-hating." Misandry has not forced men, in large numbers, to drop out of school & get married.

The existence of decent examples of women “thriving” in their marriage doesn’t counter the wider point of that entire institution being restrictive to women. It’s actually amusing that so many people are pretending that being married, especially as a woman doesn’t often mean…

If your friend goes quiet on you and your first instinct is to paint them negatively and accuse them of not making you a “priority” then you are the problem. Whatever happened to “hey friend, I miss you— is everything okay?”

How do you know it’s a “charm”? & why did you post someone else’s photo (without permission)? You’re complaining about someone not performing Islam well, but you’re judging, mocking, berating & setting them up for ridicule in public. Is that Islam? You should know better.

You tie charm around your leg, get audacity to take on Ihram, make tawaf around the house of Allah, then prostrate to Allah with charm tied around your leg. I advised you and you make a scene??? Make everybody dey play dey go, we will soon know the winners and the losers.

I’m super terrified but excited about the road ahead. Regardless of what’s next, the goal, for me, remains to continue to tell stories - forever and ever.

Why are you feminist because of Chimamanda? Why does she define whether or not you are feminist ? Why not be feminist because you care about women's rights and empowerment?

I have deleted my post about Samia Hassan, who scammed me out of some money, as my post reached her family and they have paid me what she owed. Thank you all for amplifying the message, and thank you to @Cybersocafrica for reaching out to me and for investigating the issue.

Misandry has not taken away jobs from a significant number of men, & it certainly hasn’t caused them to be repeatedly asked “What were you wearing?” in cases of sexual violence.

You better seek help for your glaring misogyny. Search deep and examine why the idea of women having equal opportunities bothers you to the point of whining like a baby online and making baseless threats. Loser.

I was in Computer village on Wednesday to see @laptopmechanic . Wrote about it being the largest gadget market in W. Africa, the craftsmen within the market and how much it has grown over the years.

Rebel. Go crazy. Everyone else will eventually fall in line. It won’t be easy, there are hard hitting consequences, but it’s always worth standing your ground. I wish I had rebelled earlier.

Oxford students to use 'Ze' instead of 'She' or 'He' so they don't offend transgender people. Should all language be gender neutral? @skynews

I wrote for @StearsBusiness about your favourite Nigerian airlines and why their flights are *almost* always late or cancelled. Interestingly, half the time, it's not the fault of the airlines.
