Derek’s masterpiece. The 70s hair is perfect. Great title, too, though of course the Tornadoes weren’t reliant on throw-ins, not like teams now. That said, Schaedler’s was a monster
Don’t often post things twice, but in this case as I’ve had 2 of the players on it and a couple of players from the same era giving me great feedback, I thought I’d stick it back up. Another tribute to this great side. @SuperbFootyPics @WPDigital2

No legal basis. No clear objective. No exit. And much of Britain’s political class spent the week calling Starmer a coward for noticing. Latest substack from me. https://t.co/PXhyMTiBcA

Still searching for the ToTP performance. For opening chords whole band had backs to camera, then Bryan spun round. Corny theatre but brilliant all the same
Between their debut album and For Your Pleasure, Roxy Music released standalone single "Pyjamarama" on this day in 1973. This clip is from one of their many live performances on German music show Muzikladen. #roxymusic #livemusic #onthisday

Fascinating line about the inception of the 6N and England and France hoping to carve up the fixtures so they would always meet on the last weekend, reckoning this would be a title decider. Aye right!
It would rarely be my paper of choice but this is a very good interview with 85-year-old JWT by the excellent Nik Simon in yesterday’s Daily Mail. Published on the morning of the Big Game and knowing, as we do, which way the pieces fell, it’s still a worthwhile read:

Saw that debut. A 3-3 draw if memory serves. Liked Kenny’s willothewispness. Very Hibs. Hearts have always preferred them more muscular
Happy Birthday to former Hibee Kenny Davidson @KdKenny1952 🥳🎉💚 Kenny bagged a brace on his debut against St Mirren back in 1970! Here’s hoping a few of the new boys find the net today too…

Edwards missing his front teeth, Stanton handsome as ever with the cup, Gordon striking an intellectual pose, Duncan en route to the exit gates at the bottom of the slope … great work, Derek.
Well, this turned out to be not too easy to make, I soon realised I couldn’t get any players moving, I binned more videos than I used as they were just distorted. I went for a Tornado setting, I made all the wee commentary clips too🤣. Anyway, just a bit of fun🇳🇬💚

It was 57 years ago today, on 13 January 1969, when King Crimson came into being, beginning their first rehearsals in the basement of the café at 193 Fulham Palace Road. The latest Hugh's Archive Deep Dive marks the anniversary! https://t.co/oVcgbI0ave

Hibbies, what’s the best goal you’ve seen your team score at Tynecastle? I ponder this, and many other urgent questions, in my book Hibs at 150 …

Ten pages into Hibs at 150 and we’re only at the end of the index! Which Hibee survived a concentration camp (demobbed on the pitch, captaining the team to a derby victory)? Who was David Beckham’s image-rights pioneer? Who died of a broken heart? It’s all in the book …

Thought I’d seen every image from our 1st Lge Cup - not this one. Eddie trying to locate a route through the crowds and look at Pat, the man never took a bad picture. Cool coat, sir.

More tantalising chapter headings from Hibs at 150. Who was “better than Matthews, better than Finney”? Whose touch was so featherlite he could “play keepy-uppy” with a soap bubble”? Available at all good bookshops, just £12.99
