Correct: The 2.5x multiplier is only used if there is no marketing budget provided. If marketing is provided—it’s generally 1.5x. These are OF COURSE rough guides. As a point of reference: MAN OF STEEL’s final multiplier ended up around 1.6x.

🚨 BREAKING: #Superman’s budget is confirmed to be $1.2B — excluding marketing, which is another $1.5B. Using (what I’ve been told is) the “standard industry multiplier” of 8.5x, this film needs to make (1.2 + 1.5) x 8.5 = $22.9B to break even. Any less and it’s a massive flop!
