this is the best timeline
Chad IDE (@cladlabs) is the brainrot code editor. AI coding takes 1–5 min between prompts—too long to ignore, too short to start something new. Chad integrates your brainrot (X, IG, Stake, Tinder, etc) into your agentic coding workflow and helps to manage your

Anyone else having people not believing there's an actual person answering the intercom/crisp webchat and being absolutely disgusting and rude? Just had one of those. I'd love to forward the chat to their mothers 😂.

i love competition in this space so i hope they keep improving the service. but having revisited it again, it's clear why no one uses it. it's just... too clunky, expensive and inefficient. thoughts?

ah, and remember, that was $0.50 off my monthly credit in 2 minutes. 50 of these (or one 2-hour) coding sessions would just blow through the whole $25/mo Replit Core credits, and then it's pay-as-you-go. it's just... expensive? maybe it makes sense if you want to host there?

my experience in the past has been that replit is in a weird spot: too complex for non techies but just worse proper coding experience overall than e.g. cursor. my conclusion here: exactly that.

25 cents later (yes, really, again) it ran `zip -r` on some files. then I went on digging around the obscure UI for the zip. downloaded. and hey, to be fair, it worked just fine! and nicer looking that the o3 version.

anyway I asked for clarification. and it quickly told me how one installs a chrome extension. ok but, where's the extension? so just like for o3, I asked it to please zip it up and let me download it.

what does any of this have to do with my extension? anyway, $0.25 (yes really) later it finished and told me to try it. try what? turns out it thought i should be able to see the extension (that I didn't even install) somehow in that file listing preview pane, I guess.

what about replit? a good thing is that it was much more comprehensive in planning and telling what it was going to do. then it started going at it. it created some markdown file docs. then started a python web server (?). then showed the directory listing in a preview pane.

it just one-shotted it in 40 seconds. working first time. no nonsense. cool.

for o3 i actually started by asking something related, but not really about the extension itself. then i asked to write one, and finally to zip it up for me. literally three messages. here's the full conversation: chatgpt .com /share/685d68e3-19bc-800d-a8eb-212050816257

people were saying replit was at $100M ARR but nobody uses it. i haven't used it in a while, so let's try it again. let's build one of those custom-css-for-this-domain chrome extensions with it. and also try with plain o3 here's the results. spoiler: not that interesting.

but maybe we'll learn to thrive in that new scenario? a new golden age of indie hacking, not defined by the few rockstars but by a tapestry of competing ideas and quick execution? maybe nobody will get rich from this one, but at least it'll be fun for sure.

i've been thinking about the whole "itch your own scratch" approach to "solopreneurship" (lol). it always was a powerful catalyst to do something. and with ai, it's going to happen more than ever. maybe the moats will be shallower. and the noise floor way higher.

i've spent all morning today out and about working from cafés and restaurants. not being able to talk to the computer has become a huge handicap in a matter of weeks. i'm officially addicted to @WisprFlow looks like.
